Bryan Davey is dedicated to fostering strong community ties in District 2. Through active participation and open dialogue, we aim to address the needs and concerns of our residents.

I’ve spent my entire career solving problems, serving the public, and strengthening the communities of Sierra County. I graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute with an Associate of Science in Automotive Technology and began my professional life at the Chevron Research Laboratory in Richmond. Over 16 years, I advanced from automotive technician to managing the laboratory’s parts department and purchasing. I later served as a research technician for Oronite Additives, conducting field testing and research for industrial engine oil technologies.
After a corporate downsizing in 2003, I chose a new path in public service. I completed the Basic Police Academy at Yuba College, graduating first in my class, and was hired by Sheriff Lee Adams as a Sierra County Deputy Sheriff in 2004. In 2007, I joined the Public Works Department as a Transportation Planner and Engineering Technician, beginning nearly two decades of hands-on work improving county infrastructure and transportation systems.
Under the mentorship of longtime Director Tim Beals, I developed deep knowledge in public contracting, transportation planning, and project management. My leadership and technical experience led to promotions to Assistant Engineer in 2015, Deputy Director in 2018, and Director of Transportation in 2023. I retired from county service in December 2025.
My wife and I have made our home in Sierra City, where we raised our son and remain active community members. I served as Chief of the Sierra City Volunteer Fire Department from 2008 to 2019 and continued as a volunteer until 2026. I currently serve as treasurer for the United Methodist Church in Downieville and Sierra City, as well as for the Downieville Tennis Organization. I’ve also served as treasurer for the Downieville School Sports Booster Club and Parent Teacher Organization, and I continue to support numerous local programs.

I have served Sierra County since March 27, 2004, first as a Deputy Sheriff (until November 21, 2007) and then in Public Works and Transportation (until December 25, 2025). I joined the Sierra City Volunteer Fire Department in 2007, served as Chief from 2008 to 2019, and continued as a firefighter through 2026.
I have also volunteered as treasurer for the Downieville Parent Teachers Association, the Downieville Booster Club, and the United Methodist Church. With experience in law enforcement, emergency services, and public administration, I am prepared to step into the District Two Supervisor role in January 2027 and perform the duties of the office from day one.

My vision is to serve, support and encourage the vitality of our Sierra County Communities while helping to protect the nature and essence of our uniqueness, and strive to build consensus among the leaders and work for a responsible and efficient County government.
